About the eBook
The Tao Te-Ching is a wisdom text attributed to the Chinese philosopher Lao Tse, who is considered the founder of Taoist philosophy. This book centers around the concept of Tao, which means "the way" in Chinese, but goes beyond being just a physical path to becoming a state of being. Lao Tse sees the Tao as the force that animates the universe, and that it represents the way things move in their lives, without relying on an external force. Taoism is the oldest of Chinese philosophies, as it is not based on religion but rather promotes an understanding of self and nature. Taoist ideas are highlighted through the symbols "yin" and "yang", which represent good and evil, and indicate complementarity between them rather than conflict. Through meditation and simplicity, Taoism advocates balance and stillness in individuals' lives.
