The truth is that there are many "Salafis" whose religious views and political positions differ, starting with the movements that absolutely prohibit - rebellion against the ruler and "if he takes your money and strikes your back" and ending with combative Salafism - I do not say jihadism - which permits rebellion against the ruler and confronting him with weapons if he does not implement what God has revealed, and sees him as a tyrant who rules according to his desires, rejecting the rule of God, for whom there is no rule.
Despite the principled position on which the majority of Salafist movements are almost unanimous, which is the rejection of political participation, considering democracy a secular system borrowed from the infidel West, I say despite that, Salafism modified its position after the events of the January 25 Revolution, in which it saw an opportunity to gain power and change its identity. the society .
Hence, it was necessary for the secular forces - seeking to establish a modern civil state based on democracy and citizenship rights - to confront this Salafist ideology that rejects and is hostile to all the values ​​of the modern state.
