Modernity in the Arab Gulf societies has its back to the wall. Because modernity in it still relies on the urban aspect - the appearance is not hidden from the eyes, and this wall itself turns, with the passage of time, into a barrier to the progress of modernity, when it is understood that this urbanism is the same as modernity, and what it is. The desired modernity is one that is deeply rooted in the social, cultural, and political structure, as an alternative to the traditional, conservative structures that are still reproducing themselves, culturally and socially, and stop leaning on the wall.
