Many years ago in 1925, residents of the town of Nome, located in faraway Alaska, almost died from diphtheria. Many people tried to help the sick, but if it weren't for the brave northern dogs, all their efforts would have been in vain. I lived in Alaska and found out that all the stories told about this case were not entirely true. I want to tell you a true story, told one hot July evening in Ukraine.
