The Occult & Esoteric Works of A. E. Waite (Illustrated Edition) (Annotated)
About the eBook
The Occult & Esoteric Works of A. E. Waite (Illustrated Edition) gathers a central body of writings from one of the most learned interpreters of Western esotericism. Ranging across Hermetic philosophy, alchemy, Rosicrucianism, ceremonial magic, Kabbalah, mysticism, and tarot symbolism, the volume reflects Waite's distinctive fusion of antiquarian scholarship and spiritual interpretation. Its prose is elaborate, allusive, and often devotional, belonging firmly to the late Victorian and Edwardian occult revival while also resisting mere sensationalism in favor of initiatory meaning. Arthur Edward Waite (1857–1942) was an American-born British scholar, poet, mystic, and esoteric historian, best known today as co-creator of the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot. His involvement with the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, his later founding of the Fellowship of the Rosy Cross, and his deep engagement with Christian mysticism shaped his effort to distinguish authentic spiritual tradition from popular occult fantasy. This illustrated edition is recommended for readers seeking more than a curiosity cabinet of occult lore. It will especially reward students of esoteric history, tarot, symbolism, and comparative mysticism who wish to encounter Waite's demanding but influential vision of the hidden tradition.

About the Author
Arthur Edward Waite (1857 – 1942) was an American-born British writer and scholarly mystic who created an extensive oeuvre on occult and esoteric matters. He is also famous as the Rider–Waite–Smith Tarot deck creator. The historical value of Waite's works consisted in his first-ever attempt to prepare a systematic study of the history of western occultism. He studied divination, esotericism, Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry, ceremonial magic, Kabbalism, and alchemy. He also translated and reissued several mystical and alchemical works. Many of his studies were dedicated to the question of the search for the Holy Grail.
