The novel had a significant influence on the attitude of the world community to the shameful phenomenon of the American society - the slavery. According to one of the versions, it is considered that the novel sharpened one of the conflicts on the basis of slavery, which in result led to the Civil War in the Usa and abolishment of the slavery.
