"The Adventures of the Chevalier de la Salle" was written in 1875 by American historian, pastor, and pedagogical writer John Stevens Cabot Abbott (1805-1877), and tells the story of 17th century discoverer René Robert Cavelier de La Salle, also known as Chevalier de la Salle, and his Companions, in their explorations of the prairies, forests, lakes, and rivers, of the New World, and their interviews with the savage tribes.
