Bernard Shaw
About the eBook
This book contains a biography of the writer and philosopher Bernard Shaw, who enriched the world theater with more than 50 plays, and whose works have been fully translated into Arabic. According to the author of this book, Bernard Shaw's works are not far from his personal life, as his extensive introductions to his works, as well as his social research, contain many personal biographies of his childhood and youth. Therefore, we can deduce his morals, passions, and philosophy by examining his works. Bernard Shaw was born in 1856 in Dublin, the capital of Ireland. He grew up in a rigid Irish environment where the Catholic Church dominated his social life. His father was a failed alcoholic, but Bernard Shaw loved him, while he hated his mother, who left home for London. Shaw was forced to leave school at the age of fifteen to work as a clerk. When he was twenty, he moved to London, where his mother lived with her daughter in a modest dwelling, and earned her living by teaching singing. During this period, he was exposed to a variety of sciences, literature, history, and religions that the mind can hardly imagine. His dramas, which he wrote and which later became successful, are the fruit of this period.
