To the maintenance department, to deliver or replace something, but he did not continue his walk to the maintenance department, but rather stopped for a moment to make sure that no one was paying attention to his movement, then he deviated lightly into another side corridor, and rushed off. He crossed it for three metres, before he stopped in front of one of the tightly closed doors, and took out a small tool from his pocket, inserted it into the keyhole, and began quickly treating the wound, until he responded to it, so he pushed the door, entered the room in one leap, and closed its door behind him, then He went straight to one of the drawers and began carefully flipping through the files in it, before he stopped at a file in particular. He took it out of its place, placed it on top of the adjacent desk, took a small camera from his pocket, and began to take pictures. He carefully photographed the pages of the file, until he finished photographing them all, so he put the camera in his pocket, and returned the file to its place with great care, then he left the room, looked around him cautiously, and headed back to the main corridor.

نبيل فاروق هو كاتب مصري من أشهر الكتّاب في أدب الجاسوسية والخيال العلمي ويعتبر من الروّاد في هذين المجالين عربيًا، كما يعتبر الكاتب الأغزر إنتاجًا في الوطن العربي بأكثر من 600 عنوان من تأليفه.

بدأت شهرته في منتصف الثمانينيات، بعد تعاونه مع المؤسسة العربية الحديثة، والناشر العظيم الراحل حمدي مصطفى، الذي تبناه أدبيًا، ونشر له رواياته في شكل كتب جيب.

قدّم د. نبيل فاروق مع (روايات مصرية) عدة سلاسل قصصية أيقونية من أشهرها ملف المستقبل، ورجل المستحيل، وكوكتيل 2000، وزووم وفارس الأندلس وحرب الجواسيس وغيرها… بالإضافة لمشاركته في سلسلة زهور و(روايات عالمية)، ولاقت رواياته نجاحًا كبيرًا في العالم العربي، خاصة عند الشباب.

ولد د.نبيل فاروق في طنطا بمحافظة الغربية في 9 فبراير عام 1956، وبدأ اهتمامه بالقراءة منذ طفولته، حيث كان يقرأ كثيرًا، وكان والده يشجعه على ذلك. بدأ محاولات الكتابة في المدرسة الإعدادية. وانضم إلى جماعة الصحافة والتصوير والتمثيل المسرحي في المدرسة الثانوية. في الجامعة اشتهر بموهبته في الرسم، وقبل تخرجه في كلية الطب بعام واحد حصل على جائزة من قصر ثقافة (طنطا) عن قصة (النبوءة)، وذلك في عام 1979، والتي أصبحت فيما بعد القصة الرئيسية في العدد الأول من سلسلة كوكتيل 2000.

في تلك الفترة أيضًا، كانت علاقة نبيل فاروق بالمخابرات المصرية قد توطدت بشكل ما، ممّا سمح له بمقابلة ضابط مخابرات مصري (أو عدد من الضباط)، حيث استوحى واقتبس من هذه الخبرة شخصية (أدهم صبري) في سلسلة رجل المستحيل التي عرفت نجاحًا غير مسبوق في العالم العربي.

في أكتوبر عام 1998، فاز الدكتور نبيل فاروق بالجائزة الأولى في مهرجان ذكرى حرب أكتوبر عن قصة (جاسوس سيناء: أصغر جاسوس في العالم)، كما حصل على جائزة الدولة التشجيعية عام 2007 عن رواية (س-18) بسلسلة الأعداد الخاصة.

تعاون د. نبيل فاروق مع العديد من المجلات والصحف المعروفة مثل مجلة الشباب، وجريدة الدستور، وأخبار اليوم، ومجلة باسم، حيث نشر بها لسنوات العديد من المقالات والدراسات والقصص.

تحولت بعض رواياته لأعمال درامية، أشهرها فيلم الرهينة، ومسلسل العميل 1001، ومسلسل (من الجاني) والمسلسل الإذاعي (رجل المستحيل).
