The Gyalwang Drukpa is the founder of the international humanitarian movement Live To Love and a widely recognized environmental advocate. He is the head of the Drukpa School of Buddhism in the Himalayas.
As part of the secular Live To Love initiative, The Gyalwang Drukpa is setting new standards together with the kung fu nuns. They cycled thousands of miles on Eco Cycle Yatras through the Himalayan mountains of India and Nepal, raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection and equality, and collecting many tons of plastic waste along the way. The Gyalwang Drukpa also gained international attention at the UN Climate Change Conference in Katowice in 2018 and the Change Congress in Berlin in 2019. At the invitation and initiative of Gianna Wabner, president of the Live To Love Germany Foundation, he participated in the 1st European Bike Yatra from Hamburg to Copenhagen.
