Novelist and short story writer Abd al-Rahman Majid al-Rubai'i has lived and followed the Tunisian literary movement for years, as a reader, critic, and contributor to seminars and forums. He has enjoyed opportunities that have not been available to other Arab writers who have lived in Tunisia. Due to al-Rubai'i's interest in the short story and the novel, he has been able to highlight important names from all literary generations in Tunisia, including only living writers. He has prepared this "anthology," the first of its kind of this size and scope, comprising (38) Tunisian short story writers, male and female, from whom examples of their stories have been selected for this anthology.
