Ibrahim Nagi, an Egyptian poet born in the Shubra district of Cairo, specialized in medicine and was later appointed supervisor of the medical department at the Ministry of Endowments.
Nagi translated some poems from French by Baudelaire under the title "Flowers of Evil," translated Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment" from English, and Dostoevsky's "Death on Holiday" from Italian. He also published a study of Shakespeare and published the magazine "Hakim al-Bayt." He also authored several literary books, including "City of Dreams" and "The World of the Family," among others.
His poetry collections include:
"Behind the Clouds" (1934), "Cairo Nights" (1944), "In the Temple of Night" (1948), "The Wounded Bird" (1953), and others. His complete poetic works were published posthumously in 1966 by the Supreme Council of Culture.
