About the eBook

The first part of the book tells a collection of stories that took place in a Lebanese village, reflecting the reality of Lebanese life in all its realistic human details. It describes the atmosphere of the holiday in a simple Lebanese home, and depicts Santa Claus and the children's celebrations of his presence. The second part, meanwhile, covers stories and news from the author's personal life in his village, Ain Kifah. All of this is told in a simple, eloquent style, mixed with sarcasm about the tragedy of life and its bitter reality. Maroun Abboud is a writer, journalist and poet, considered a pioneer of the modern literary renaissance in Lebanon. He moved between different fields of writing: journalism, poetry, prose, and stories. However, what he excelled in most was literary criticism, and he was known as the "Sheikh of Critics." He was aided in this by his broad knowledge of the cultures of the East and the West, which qualified him to write in various fields of human knowledge, in addition to his witty satirical style. He was also famous for his pure Arabism, to the point that he named his son Muhammad, who was known as Abu Muhammad, and named his daughter Fatima. He also devoted a large part of his literature to the issues of the Arab nation.
