This study deals with the development of Islamic art in Egypt and not in other countries included in the Arab Empire, given that the history of Islamic art in Egypt has episodes and eras, and each of these has its own distinguishing characteristics. Hence, the author chose to divide the study of arts in Islamic Egypt into three stages: the first begins with the Arab conquest and ends with the fall of the Tulunid state, the second includes the era of the Fatimids, and the third contains the era of the Mamluks, although there remained in the history of Egypt before modern times two royal families who were not mentioned in this division, and they were Ikhshidids and Ayyubids; This is only because art in their two eras was not allocated many apparent advantages; Rather, it often followed the art that preceded it, and paved the way for the art that followed it.
