For this reason alone I wrote "Sarah", and it is a reason that may be true or have a share of truth if I believed that the story was a tax on every writer, or I believed that the story was the most honorable door of writing in the literary arts, or I believed that I was required to write on every topic that the authors' pens wandered about." Then he says, "I do not believe any of that. For me, the story is nothing more than a chapter of literary writing, not the most honorable."
