The poet Al-Baha Zuhair says, as mentioned in Al-Isfahani's Book of Songs, or Al-Isfahani, as others say:
People say: If you describe your passion to us
By God, I do not know how to describe passion
A century later, the prince of poets, Ahmed Shawqi, came and borrowed these verses from pre-Islamic poetry and gave them to modern poetry, saying:
People say: If you describe your passion to us
I said, "I have tasted passion," and then I tasted it
Perhaps those who have not known love will know
By God, I don't know how to describe it
Then came Umm Kulthum, Star of the East, and in the movie "Salama", they asked her: "Tell me about lovers." She said: About lovers, they asked me?...And I am in love and I do not understand!
