Every human action has an original purpose to which it aims. What is the purpose we aim for with education? What are the ways in which we should lead the youth?
The highest purpose of education is to raise independent men, men of independence that are their most distinctive characteristic, men who are independent in opinion and character, and in earning a lawful livelihood, such that the quality of social parasitism and dependency is weakened in them as much as the quality of production is strengthened in them. And originality...correct education is what fulfills this purpose, which is to connect education with the social conditions that surround us in this part of the world that we occupy.
