Ihsan Abdel Quddus was born on January 1, 1919 in Cairo. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1942. He began his life as a political writer and editor-in-chief of Rosa Al-Youssef magazine, which was founded by his mother, Fatima Al-Youssef. He raised the issue of corrupt weapons used in the Palestine war. He held a number of journalistic positions, the last of which was editor-in-chief and the board of directors of Al-Ahram Foundation, after which he devoted himself to writing until his death on January 11, 1990. He produced hundreds of novels and short story collections, most of which were turned into cinematic, radio, and television works. He received many of the highest local and international honors, awards and certificates of appreciation.
