In this research, His Eminence Sheikh Mahmoud Shaltout, "Islam and International Relations... in Peace and War," addresses the nature of the Islamic call - the Qur'an and the legitimacy of fighting - the Qur'an and the organization of fighting and its initial and final rulings.
His Eminence explained in the introduction the best method in his view for interpreting the Holy Qur'an, and hinted at the reason that led him to choose this topic from among the topics of the Qur'an.
He concluded the chapters of his research with a conclusion in which he explained that the practical combat carried out by the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, in his conquests, and carried out by his two caliphs after him in their wars, was a correct application of what the Qur'an decided in the legislation, organization, and rulings of combat, and did not deviate from it one iota.
