Salma, who lives in the city of Khan Yunis, exchanges letters with Fares, who is detained in Ashkelon prison. She records to him her delirium and dreams of moving freely within Palestine, which is suffering under a horrific occupation and a devastating internal conflict. As the days go by, she gets caught up in the web of his love and his cause, and tries to discover his identity: Is he really the resistance fighter "Karam" that the Israeli authorities are looking for, or is he "Faris" as she knew him, the simple mechanic who never learned how to use a gun?
