Thick veils of mystery continued to fall over the history of the Arabs before Islam, except for references here and there in the Holy Qur'an and the Old Testament, and in some Egyptian, Babylonian, and Assyrian inscriptions, and among Greek and Roman historians and geographers, except for what was written by Arab historians after Islam, with very different myths mixed in.
This book is a scientific work, and its author, Dr. Khalil Yahbi Nami, spent many years devoted to its topics, spending arduous efforts on them, working day and night, studying, examining, comparing, correcting, and reviewing the research of the orientalists of his predecessors and contemporaries, and during all of that, he lectured his students without stopping. His determination is tireless. Until this picture of pre-Islamic Arab history, their languages, and their religions was established for him, and it is an image for which he took all the means he could to make it pure and filtered, free of all complexity that confuses or corrupts understanding, and it is worthy of all appreciation.
