The Three Trappers is a western adventure novel set in the Pioneering days of the West and it tells the story of Fred Wainwright, a young hunter, who encounters a tribe of Comanche Indians. Fred, who much fears the Comanche, is about to experience their chief's ruse.

Edward S. Ellis (1840-1916) was an American teacher, school administrator, journalist, and the author of hundreds of books and magazine articles that he produced by his name and by a number of pen names. Ellis is best known for his westerns and dime novels.
