Ibn Sina

It sheds light on Ibn Sina's bold ideas, which sometimes contradicted the beliefs of his time, especially in the psychological, natural, and doctrinal aspects, and does not overlook his scientific research and discoveries, which still constitute an illuminating beacon for many in the East and West alike.

وُلِدَ "البارون برنارد كارا دو فو" لعائلةٍ أرستقراطيةٍ فرنسيةٍ عام 1867م. انطلقَ من شغفِهِ باللغاتِ الشرقية، وخاصةً العربية، لدراستِها في المعهدِ الكاثوليكيِّ في باريس، حيث أَغْرَقَ في عوالمِ الإسلامِ والمسيحيةِ في الشرقِ الأوسط. ولم يَكْتَفِ بتعلُّمِ العربية، بل نذرَ نفسَه لتدريسها، وأضحى أستاذًا لها في المعهد. انبهرَ "كارا دو فو" بعلماءِ العربِ وتفوقِهم في شتّى العلوم، فأَوْلَعَ بمُقارَنَةِ ما أنتجهُ اليونانيونَ من علومٍ بما أنتجهُ العرب، وأبرزَ في كتاباتِه إنجازاتِهم، مُسلّطًا الضوءَ على ريادتِهم في الهندسةِ التحليليةِ وعلمِ الجبرِ ومُحاولاتِ الطيران، مُثمّنًا دورَهم في استخدامِ الأصفارِ في الحسابِ ورصْدِهم الفلكيِّ الدقيق. وقد كرّسَ "كارا دو فو" حياته لِكَشْفِ غِطاءِ الحضارةِ العربيةِ الإسلامية، فأَلَّفَ كتبًا عن "ابن سينا" و"الغزالي"، وترجمَ "التنبيه والإشراف" للمسعودي، وأصدرَ "مفكّرو الإسلام" في خمسةِ مُجلّداتٍ ليُ enrich المكتبةَ العربيةَ بأبحاثِه ودراساته.
